zero to a hundred

Anyone who knows me knows I have a very strong penchant (okay, more like obsession) with all things Helmut Lang. The strong attention to detail, the interesting cuts, and the figure-flattering draping always hit the nail on the head. So when I saw this dress at H&M looking very Lang-like, I knew I had to take it home.

Here's how I wore it to work, and then instantly made it evening ready with 3 quick changes.

Dress: H&M.  Zip Sweatshirt: Helmut Lang.  Boots: Isabel Marant (similar here, here).  Necklace: David Yurman.  Charms: Anthropologie (old).  Bag: Prada (old, love this one).

Slip the jacket off... and pile on the accessories in the same gray family: an over the top necklace, single strap shoes, and a python clutch. You're now well on your way to all the night could possibly have to offer.

Necklace: J.Crew (old, similar here, here).  Heels: Zara (old, love these).  Python Clutch: Clara Kasavina.

the vest of times

I picked up this vest from Neiman Marcus a few weeks ago (a little early in the season.. but it's since sold out online so who's the real winner here?) and I've been living in it. It's super luxe looking without the major price tag of real shearling. I plan on wearing it over flowy dresses and with wide leg pants to really play up it's 70s vibe. I mean, sometimes.. you've just gotta make the vest of it.

And let's not forget about Stuart Weitzman's newest update to the 5050 collection: the Quiltboot. I wore my flat leather ones into the ground over the past two years, so when they released this quilted one recently, it seemed like a no-brainer. Over the knee and comfortable are no longer mutually exclusive, people.

Vest: Velvet by Graham and Spencer (similar here).  Sweater: H&M.  Pants: J.Crew "Pixie".  Boots: Stuart Weitzman "Quiltboot".  Necklace: Jennifer Zeuner "Zoey" Lariat.  Ring: Jennifer Zeuner "Sabrina".  Bag: Prada (old, love this one).

slam dunk

Because sometimes, you want to wear a full skirt with some Dunks to brunch to consume spicy feta dip and unlimited bellinis. And contrary to my clutch, there was no tequila involved. Score!

Tank: Urban Outfitters (old, sold out).  Skirt: Aqua for Bloomingdales (similar here, love this one).  Sneakers: Nike Dunk Sky Hi (similar here).  Necklace: J.Crew (similar here, love this one and this one).  Clutch: Kate Spade (old, love this one).  Lips: New York Color "Blue Rose" (can be found at CVS).

If you've never been to Barbounia, add it to your list. You won't be disappointed.

gray matters

I'm crushing on gray everything this season - sure, black and white always makes a statement, but the color that comes between them sure is having a moment. Consider it a palette cleanser. And the red? Just the cherry on top.

Tank: J.Crew.  Pants: J.Crew.  Blazer. J.Crew Schoolboy (old, love this one).  Heels: Balenciaga (shorter version here, higher version here).  Clutch: 3.1 Phillip Lim "31 Minute" bag (new version here).
